Great Luggage, Even Better Price

It is only on occassion when really fantastic luggage goes on sale and becomes affordable to everyone. Now just so happens to be one of those times. Victorinox's Werks Traveler 2.0 line of luggage and business cases just happens to be an additional 20% off an already marked down price. What does that mean for you?? The same thing it means to me- we can afford to buy quality, good-looking (and non-black if i may add) luggage that should last us many travel miles. Trust me, once you buy Victorinox, it is hard to buy anything else. It has the appeal of an iPhone with the price of a landline :) Don't take my word for it. Check it out for yourself.

TUMI INTRODUCES NEW STYLISH LUGGGE LINE;

“Alpha” Expected to be Tumi’s Best Selling Line in 2008

April 1st 2008---“Alpha” the new line by Tumi, an international brand of luxury travel items, will be in stores. “Alpha”, according to a Tumi spokesperson, will feature a distinctive black on black design, it will be lighter weight than their other luggage lines (due to improvements in material, construction, and overall design) and it will feature soft FXT ballistic nylon that will make this line extremely luxurious to the touch. “This is expected to be Tumi’s best selling line in 2008 as it replaces the Generation 4 series that is their best selling line currently. I personally expect it to do even better than the Generation 4 because it returns Tumi to its traditional look.” says Logan Howe, Vice President and luggage buyer for Sharon Luggage and Gifts

Mr. Howe has been with Sharon Luggage & Gifts for 29 years and is acknowledged by the National Luggage Dealers Association for his expertise in the luggage industry. When describing Mr. Howe, Sienna Wyniemko, Buyer’s Assistant for Sharon Luggage and Gifts, says “Logan is a very conservative buyer. He examines every aspect of a piece before deciding whether the quality of the piece meets the Sharon Luggage standard”.
According to Mr. Howe, Sharon Luggage has been a retailer of Tumi products since its inception 33 years ago. He says the reason he has continued the relationship for such a long time is “they continue to lead the industry with innovation and style”. Tumi has been in the luggage business since 1975 and like Sharon Luggage, they pride themselves on the quality of their products. Mr. Howe says that some of the key features that separate Tumi products from other vendor’s products are “the stylishness of the products as well as the quality of their luggage”. For more information on Tumi visit their website at tumi.com

Sharon Luggage & Gifts currently operates out of ten retail store locations and an online retail operation sharonluggage.com. Locations include: Charlotte, Pineville, Asheville, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Cary, and Raleigh; all of which carry Tumi products. If a customer is looking for a Tumi item (or an item from another vendor Sharon Luggage carries) that is not currently stocked by Sharon Luggage, they will special order for customers. For specific location information or questions please visit the Sharon Luggage website at sharonluggage.com.

PACKING SPECIALIST SAYS “DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR”

TSA Travel Requirements Not as Strict as You Think

Americans who travel by air need to be up to date on the current Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements for their safety and convenience while traveling. However, according to Susan Roberts, travel and packing expert, many people are relying on what they have been told by another person and that information can be inaccurate. With all of the recent changes, it is hard for anyone to keep up with all the airline rules but the problem remains that the infrequent traveler doesn’t know where to get the facts.

Susan Roberts is the manager of Sharon Luggage & Gifts’ SouthPark Mall location in Charlotte and she has been giving packing demonstrations for over 10 years. Susan says, “It is actually about once a week that someone walks into the store and tells me that you can no longer lock your luggage. TSA approved locks have been around for over five years now.” This is just one example of the many myths surrounding travel. Another myth is that no liquids are allowed on board an airplane. TSA requirements are that liquids and gels can be carried on in bottles that do not exceed 3oz. However, the bottles must be inside a clear zip top plastic bag that is no larger than one quart; and each traveler can carry only one bag.

Where should one glean his or her travel information? Before each packing demonstration that Susan gives she researches recent changes on the TSA website, tsa.gov and she always suggest that those who attend her demos do the same for themselves. This information and more valuable packing and travel tips are available at http://www.sharonluggage.com/.

Another tip Susan gives at her packing demos is to check luggage weight restrictions with your airline before flying. The TSA does not regulate luggage weight but each airline has its own rules that either limit weight or charge a fee for going over their suggested weight. To find out more visit your airline’s website.

Sharon Luggage & Gifts currently operates out of ten permanent locations including locations in Charlotte, Pineville, Asheville, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Cary, and Raleigh; all of which offer weekly packing demonstrations. Packing demonstrations are free to the public and they cover TSA changes, how to pack the most in one bag, travel safety and wrinkle free travel. For specific location information or questions please visit our website at http://www.sharonluggage.com/.

Holiday Catalog!

Thanksgiving is here and that means the annual Sharon Luggage & Gifts holiday catalog is out in full force. It has infiltrated the mailboxes of a select few but it is available to all via your local Sharon Luggage store or online. Some items are already making a splash in the ocean of holiday shopping. Check out the animal ring holders. I actually own a version 1.0 of these (it is quite handy). Only a giraffe or a swan could appreciate your jewerly as much as you! Now, guys, I know most of you wouldn't be dazzled with tiny monkey in your stocking. That's why we are carrying the men's valet with charger. This item is a well-thought out closet of organization for your smaller possessions. You can store your cell phone and iPod on the valet. You always know where they are AND a surge protector (which is indeed included) charges them. Ingenious!
Don't forget we are a one stop shop. We include free embossing on certain items and gift wrap on most items.

For the Ladies

Sharon Luggage & Gifts is for the ladies. What do I mean? What do we have that a lady might want?? Well, here goes. BAGGALLINI! This brand of baggs for women was designed by women. If you ask me, that is the best way to truly discover what women want. The best part about Baggallini is they make the Plum and Spice color combination, that would be lovely for a Clemson game perhaps. Next on the shopping list for ladies is this earring box. I may just give one to every woman I know. Last but not least, this travel cosmetic bag by Rea Creations is a MUST for the female traveler. How do you think we get all of our stuff to and fro?

I know, I know

No lecturing. I know it's been awhile. But come on, backpack season is a busy time for us. However, now that I am FULL TIME ONLINE (no need for applause), I should have plenty of time for updates. Today I want to talk about gifts. I have devoted a lot of time to this category lately. Check out our gifts page on the site. After all, there is a lot more than luggage to Sharon Luggage & Gifts. I believe we have the best selection of what to buy when you don't know what to buy. Confused? Would you ever think of shopping for a coin sorter? You know Grandpa would love that! Or how about that Uncle who is always drunk at family functions? This gift could not be more perfect. We've got gifts for all the ladies out there too. This tote bag is suitable for all ages. It is sure to make Sis, Ma, Gram, best friend Jane, or even love muffin smile! Remember, Christmas countdown is on!

But don't worry guys, there are masculine colors as well. Click here to see all of the new colors in the Superbreak! Don't forget, buying two packs is a great idea if you have an A-day, B-day schedule. That way, you don't have to switch your books out of your backpack everyday. Wow, I miss school.
